The Maple Leaf was Mapleton's monthly newsletter for 4 years between 2002 and 2007. Following the demise of the Maple Leaf in December 2007, a MADCA community notice board was placed at the Mapleton Post Office to enable MADCA news, events and general meeting minutes to be displayed and communicated to the community.

The Pop Up Community News was a MADCA initiative from 2016. Following a successful 4 week pilot it became a regular publication featuring activities and events for not-for-profit organisations across the Blackall Range and surrounds.

In 2023 the Pop Up Community News developed new management arrangements, identity, and directions.

Whilst, the MADCA appreciated the work that had been done in the past to produce the Pop Up Community News, in November 2023, MADCA decided to divest itself of the PUCN. This was so that MADCAs resources could be better used in other areas that align more closely with its goals and values and are more broadly reflective of the wider community.

Where appropriate, MADCA continues to work with the PUCN for the benefit of our community.
