Wastewater Options Paper

MADCA has written a paper exploring options to reduce the pump out costs for those properties destined to always require pump out services on the range.

The Mapleton and District Community Association Inc (MADCA) is a not-for-profit organisation, comprised of local citizens that works with residents, community groups and local government to promote our beautiful hinterland village and surrounding district and preserve its heritage and outstanding natural environment. The MADCA provides a key forum and voice that reflects and articulates our community’s concerns and views to all levels of government and other organisations.

The MADCA was founded in Sept, 1990, as a result the amalgamation of the Mapleton and District Rate Payers Association and the Mapleton Farmers and Fruit growers Progress Association. The objects for which the association is established are:

1. The association is established to be a charity whose purpose is to advance social or public welfare by providing:
  • inclusive community activities and events that celebrate the local environment and bring community members together;
  • grant funding to local not-for-profit community groups;
  • auspicing services to local not-for- profit community groups;
  • other support services to community groups and members.
2. The association is established to be a charity with a purpose of enhancing the natural environment of Australia by promoting sustainability and sustainable development and use of resources in the local area.
3. To promote community awareness of future developments by providing information, education and access to resources.
4. The association is established to be a charity with the purpose of enhancing the Mapleton area by advocating for additions and improvements to local infrastructure and amenities.
5. The association is established to be a charity with the purpose of advancing tourism in Australia, particularly in Mapleton and the surrounding area by:
  • organising and supporting events that will attract visitors to the area;
  • working with government at all levels to ensure that the interests of the tourism industry are represented in regard to the public decision-making process, and
  • providing a forum for all people engaged in the tourism industry to discuss best practice and enhancing the future of the industry.
6. To do such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of any or all of these objects.

Mission and Vision

Knowing and understanding what is important to our community is the first step to creating the place we want to live. The MADCA has been undertaking a community engagement process in which we have asked our community what would make Mapleton an even better place to live.

That conversation about how to make Mapleton a better place, never stops. We believe that the following criteria reflect what our community values most;

  1. Community: Inclusive, equitable, united
  2. Economy: Diverse, prosperous, resilient
  3. Environment: Vibrant, leadership, sustainable
  4. Leadership: Transparent, adaptive, accountable

Support, Sponsorship and Partnership

We are proudly supported by the Sunshine Coast Council's grants program. This program provides a valuable contribution to our operational expenses.
